Founder & CEO
Finley Grimble

Finley Grimble founded KSG to bring his experience wargaming and strategizing for the UK Government to a wider audience. He has advised and created wargames for the highest level of decision making in the UK Government, and for some of the largest international companies in the world.

Alongside wargaming and strategic development, he is an expert on grand strategy, NATO, Russia, and US foreign policy, while he has also advised the UK Government on China, Taiwan, Israel-Hamas, and Iran.

Knightsbridge Advisory Board

Jeremy Bentham

Jeremy joined the Knightsbridge Advisory Board with over 40 years of experience in the energy sector.

He joined Shell in 1980, and has held a number of senior executive positions, including membership of the leadership team of Shell’s commercial technology company and chief executive of Shell Hydrogen. From 2006-2022, he served on the Shell strategy leadership team, advising the CEO and Board. In particular, he was responsible for the Global Business Environment team, best known for developing forward-looking scenarios to support strategic thinking and direction-setting.

Jeremy is a graduate of the University of Oxford and has also been a Sloan Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Jeremy is also currently a non-executive director at Windward Energy, Co-Chair (scenarios) at the World Energy Council, a Senior Fellow with Mission Possible Partnership, and a senior advisor to several other international organisations.

Gary McFarlane

Gary joined the Knightsbridge Advisory Board with over 10 years of experience advising across the Middle-East, including:

His particular focus involved shaping leading entities in the region's understanding of how macroeconomic, geopolitical and industry trends are shaping the Middle East, and consequently effecting business operations and strategy.

Gary has an extensive network of government policymakers across the Middle-East and Europe, bringing critical intelligence to KSG's client services across the globe.

Bruce Woodyard

Bruce joined the Knightsbridge Advisory Board with over 40 years of experience in the US Navy and Central Intelligence Agency, working on a range of key strategic national security issues.

Bruce plays a pivotal role in Knightsbridge's intelligence gathering and assessment, ensuring best techniques are applied throughout the process and cutting edge methods are used by all analysts.

He has a deep understanding of Middle-Eastern politics, society, geoeconomics and geopolitics, alongside an extensive network of individuals that shape the region today in the political and corporate spheres.

Bruce's advice helps shape the team's collection priorities, and turning raw intelligence into actionable assessments for the range of Knightsbridge clients in both government and in the private sector.

Tim Reilly

After serving in the UK’s Special Forces Parachute Regiment in the 1980s which included three years in the Arctic, Tim worked for Exxon, Chevron, and then later as a Government Affairs Adviser to Shell in the 1990s, responsible for the CIS region.

For over a decade he was variously resident in Russia, Ukraine, the Caucasus, central Asia and Turkey. In the early 2000s he was VP for a major U.S. Telecom/Media operator in the CIS, and later Director of Oil & Gas at Kroll International.

He regularly writes in the papers (The Times, Financial
Times, Wall Street Journal, La Tribune, etc) on his areas of expertise. Tim is a Russian speaker (Moscow State Institute of International Relations), and his PhD at the University of Cambridge, was on Sino-Russian relations in the Eurasian Arctic. He remains an Institute Associate at the University of Cambridge, focused on research into the space, technology and Arctic interface.

Tim is also an adviser to NATO and the UK Government. He has been regularly called as an Expert Witness to both Houses of Parliament’s Defence, Environmental, and International Affairs Committees, regarding Arctic matters. He also lectures on Polar matters at various UK/U.S. Think Tanks, the U.S.’ Space Command, MoD’s JEF formation, as well as advising commercial organizations in the UK, EU, and U.S.
